Silent Spring and the Precautionary Principle

Amy Pugh

Amy Pugh plans to major in either economics or biology. She is interested in health care economics, international development, and environmental issues. Last spring she helped to coordinate the Ditch and Dash, a clothing and furniture drive aimed at reducing waste during move-out and giving back to the community. This year, she will be living in the Eco House to further explore local food and sustainable living on campus. Amy’s essay was composed for Professor David Robb’s Philosophy 101: Human Beings and the Natural World.
